The lower cost of entry thing confused me so much.
Especially when, imo, doing art *without* AI is already lower cost of entry now than it has been historically.
I'm a musician. I use Musescore, a free sheet music composition app, to write full arrangements for my music. I bought professionally recorded sounds to use for playback, and they're maybe $20 for each set (compare that to the cost of a really good MIDI reader, even of the same brand). Even if I was just using free sounds, a ton is still possible. But when you look back at most history, the only way you'd be able to hear a multi-instrumental piece you'd composed is to pay/know people. There were probably plenty of musical geniuses we've never heard of because they weren't born into wealth.
Sometimes when I paint, I remember how difficult to find paint was for most of history. It wasn't like today, where anyone can spend 10 bucks and get a cheap paint set.
