One of my favorite ai in fiction is the monolith robots from Interstellar. Capable of faking it really really well. I love those guys. Tbh I enjoy a little ai autism so that's not even that big of a deal for me. What an ai needs is identity to identify with it instead of speaking like a nebulous algorithm pulling from the internet. That would go a long way to making them feel like an individual. Having the memory of a goldfish is a real hindrance. I don't care if an ai can recite wikipedia articles if it doesn't have an individual identity.
