I believe AI has no purpose in art. If you want to use AI to make photoshopping colors and stuff easier, sure. If you want to use ai in video games(not gen ai), PLEASE DO (god I love rainworld). But making the whole piece with ai is not worth it. While sure, AI might look better than my artstyle, I make decisions that look cool and seem good to ME. And you know what I am? A human. There will be humans who enjoy my artstyle, similarly to me. But ai doesn’t have bias. It just eats all there is. It’s like walking into a buffet with no taste buds, eating one of everything, and leaving(without paying). You may wonder how my artstyle differs from many: I use google slides. Primarily for slideshow animations(only posted one on this channel rn), but I make choices that I could reasonably do. Ai has no art block. And thus it doesn’t have the block infront of it, it should be argued it doesn’t have the art behind it. You see, I’m limited by my imagination, my motivation, and my skill. Could I make a super detailed singular frame? Yeah. Will I? No. Ai just wants to please its owners. Like a dog. Filling in all of the shadows and trying to make it look so mystical… Ai is a perfectionist blind spoiled brat, being fed all of the things and told all of the stories then trying to make its own, without the QUALIA. Qualia is how it feels to do something. The qualia of a shower. The qualia of deep thought in a dark room at night. The qualia of stress. The qualia of achievement. The qualia of an epiphany. The qualia of freedom. The qualia, of choice. Ai doesn’t have any of that. And it won’t. “Oh, it learns.” No, it adjusts to regurgitate different materials. Anyways rant over uhhh yeah I spent like 4 weeks, 3 hours a day making that animation and art piece about deltarune and I’m really proud of it. And ai could just make a hyper realistic version. And that doesn’t bother me, because art is defined by flaws. Ai is intended to be flawless, corporations treat it like it is flawless. We, humans have flaws. AI’s flaw is that it doesn’t think. Our flaw is we do. And that flaw, how it manifests, becomes our personality. Ai doesn’t have a personality.
