The challenge with ai aligning to the majority's values is the voting that counts is a slim majority, therefore you're alienating nearly half of your population. You would need to set a high threshold to ensure a fair majority. Your other challenge with such a system is gaming and injection the ai with fake data to push it a certain way. How could you trust the outcome? It's similar to our elections today. How can you trust the outcomes?
