I might be talking complete nonsense here, but: The entire normie world is scared of nuclear energy and I'm pretty sure most of the reason is because of the fossil fuel industry trying to survive by discrediting renewable energies.
Maybe what we need is a really good marketing firm to help get the word out (especially to people with the political power to actually make change) that unregulated AI is not just racist chat bots, it's a nuclear warhead factory waiting to happen.
