I think it’s important to acknowledge this possibility. However, it’s important to remember that these corporations are a house of cards who must sell this vision. Whether the bet on LLMs pays off or not is irrelevant. Corporations will act as if it is.
As much as our oligarchs would like to believe in the inevitability of AGI, it’s important we separate fact from fiction, and disambiguate hype from reality.
