Capitalism or not, People in Power with today's technology are in a position to control that much more of our lives. China with their Social Credit Score system and mass surveillance cameras everywhere with facial recognition are a prime example of how little privacy people have anymore. More than capitalism, Greed, Cronyism and Nepotism are pretty consistent no matter the political or economic system that's in place. Capitalism itself is functional but gets a bad wrap because it's exploited and abused by so many. Having more government control over business is not a solution, but an inevitability because the ruling class has always desired growing their power and control. You didn't trust the Corporate Elites, but somehow handing it all over to a smaller group of power hungry authoritarians who are backed with military might is much better idea?
