There is only one way to stand against AI, namely, reading. AI does not link words like Google but ideas. It does so by reading 2’5 billions pages a year. I, myself, read about 50 books a year, that is roughly 25’000 pages. 20 readers like me would read 250000 pages. 100, 2’5 millions and a 1000 readers, 2’5 billions pages. At 1000 readers, we are at par with AI. And above it, we overcome AI and keep control of our lives. The bottom line is therefore this : we have abandoned our intellectual supremacy to AI by lack of disciplinary reading. Furthermore, AI is utterly necessary to our advanced society. Why? Because humans cannot collectively solved new emerging problems by lack of reading. But AI can. The ultimate objective of AI is not to put workers out of jobs. It is to solve hugely complex problems that people are not equip to do so by lack of reading. In the past, complex problems were solved by computers. Today, it is not enough. We need both, computers and AI. Trump became President because people went to look for him and elected him. People will also elect AI to gain more control over our lives. The ultimate culprit is whom ever does read books. PhC, Ph.D.
