AI is a scam to separate investors from their money. In the 1990s everyone thought India was going to take all the American jobs until bosses figured Indian workers suck and the jobs returned paying higher than ever because of an American worker shortage. Same thing will happen with AI. Once bosses figure out AI cannot be relied on, there will be a spike in wages. No amount of spike in computational capacity will approach the intelligence of people. ChatGPT is Grammarly stacked on a search engine. And I would not be surprised to later learn those chat sessions that seemed sentient it was someone mimicking AI because they knew a journalist was at the terminal and the company wanted to generate buzz. AI is a scam and AGI is pure science fiction that will never happen.
