AI no matter how complexe it will get or how good it will be at simulating life, and more precisly consciousness, never will be alive, never will have a soul, because it lacks one fundmental element for life : freedom.
AI is constructed entierly by humans and humans can change everything what's inside it when they want to, so AI can't and never will be free, and thus never will be really alive.
