people are quite fed up with one another, just look at how customer service reps treat you. people are ready to move forward with robots caretakers yesterday. the only requirements is that the robot be 99.9% functional. the built-in bedside manner, always cordial, always willing to answer a question without considering you stupid, supportive and capable robot nurse will always be preferable to a human. it just can't look dystopic with poorly functioning and awkward mechanics. it will take a few decades to get the robot to this point but when it happens humans will swap fast because we're tired of dealing with each others incompetence
