It could be a lack of understanding on my part but the only criticism of ai that I haven’t really been convinced of is when ai use is compared to stealing art from real artists by way of how the ai is trained. I don’t see the logic in that on the surface fr. There are a million different contexts in which people make something with glaring similarities to something else but change just enough to say it’s different or that it’s “inspired by” something. In many cases I think that sort of thing gets a pass and people just act weird about ai because it’s less understood and not a straight up person. I’m not particularly knowledgeable here so bear with me but anyway just wondering if anybody has some input here. Also (potentially) hot take but tbh an image generated by ai it can be just as impactful as a piece made by human hands and people act like it’ll always be a sad imitation. Gonna be real funny to me in just a couple years when people cant reliably tell the difference
