This steroid analogy is ridiculously hollow. Sure, generative AI will probably boost your academic scores compared to those who don’t use it, but that’s not the point the professor is making. Engaging with text is a rigorous fashion gives you the tools to critically engage with the world around you. You lose that capacity when you’re not reading through something on your own.
