Everything was great until he revealed his understanding of what consciousness is. Mainly because that's a fundamental shift in the way that you think about animate and inanimate objects/beings. Consciousness is the blissful self that each of us are, completely separate from our physical (i.e. flesh, organs, cells, neurons, chemicals, atoms, and what not) and metaphysical bodies (i.e. the senses, mind, and what not). Without consciousness, AI is just a sophisticated physical body of neural processes (which doesn't even include metaphysical body). So yes, it can still be dangerous (in the sense that mother nature can be), but to a conscious being, everything is a tool (and not agentic beings).
I don't know the impending consequences of "super-intelligent" AI, but I know that consciousness is far superior to anything in this universe.
