They should stop calling themselves "AI Artists" too, the title should express what they do. And what they do is commission art from an AI. They may well have a vision of what they want, provide what information they can to get what they they want out of it or as close as can be. I don't see how what they're doing isn't any different. You don't go to an artist and say "I want one art please", it's a more involved process. And if somebody who commissioned art called themselves the artist, they would be laughed at and mocked and told they're taking credit for somebody else's work. If they say "I commissioned that" then somebody might be like "you've got a good eye for taste". Like a friend who got a Warhammer character concept commissioned, the end result was incredible and the concept was neat, and she gets to take credit for the part of the process she was involved in, but ultimately credited the artist for the actual work and bringing that vision to life. If I were to be generous I would say call them "AI Art Prompters" if they're genuinely putting in some effort and creativity into their prompt, take credit for that. Sure it'll seem less impressive than claiming the end result as your own creation...but that's because it is less impressive, but at least we might go "that's pretty neat". the benefit of not pretending to be something you're not.
