This problem is not helped by the great talent to increasingly small corporate pipeline. That is not just an AI problem that is an everywhere problem. Look at what is happening to accounting where almost every major accounting school or every good accounting student is trying to work for four companies. It is not society or economically sustainable to have our professional majors all compete for a few companies and a few positions. We have to fix societal messaging and economic structures to incentivize that working for a local private law firm, accounting firm, insert any professional service is as economically viable and career sustaining and successful as working for the so-called big companies
You might not make as much money in terms of starting salary working in private accounting, but your hours are respected so much more, your personal time is respected so much more. And the path to making more and having more financial freedom in your local and small or midsize, businesses is so much more than working for the so-called elite of the elite. We need collective bargaining for small and midsize businesses in this country, to enable them to mass purchase retirement and healthcare plans in cooperation with a non-partisan government entity
