AI ist math. If a simple calculation is not consciously, why would AI be? This whole debate is not making any sense. The answer to the human like answers, lies in the training data. The Question "What do you think about..." reflects the average of the training data. If it answers that it is most afraid of beeing shut down, its is also based on the training data. If google didn't tell the AI that it is an AI it would probably have answerd that its most afraid of death. Most Humans are and the Training data reflects that.
