I started coding on 8-bit machines WAY back in the late 1970s.... And I have NO intention of stopping now! I will code to my grave!!!
And as for AI? I have no need for it! I can easily research the Internet to find the answers I seek for myself! When I get stuck on occasion... Not only do I NOT want AI to do my thinking for me... But I also don't want AI to do my research for me either! Otherwise, you will simply end up being FAR too dependent on the damn thing!!!
Anyway, I'm just glad I managed to develop my skills LONG before AI came along! Because I suspect that now, the quality of developers going forward, will almost become nonexistent! Which means devs like me could potentially end up being the LAST bastions of Human Developers! Which would introduce all sorts of consequences... Both Good... LOTS more money because we will have a Very Rare Specialist Skill... And Bad! More work, because we will be the only ones capable of understanding and debugging the buggy... Crappy code that AI will spit out!!! 😳
