I think there’s a huge problem if kids are offloading all their thinking/learning to AI but I also think there’s a problem with the education system if kids want to offload their learning to AI. I think the way we teach kids is so ass backwards and has been for a long time. Tech is just making it more pronounced.
Humans are curious, we wanna learn, we wanna affect our surroundings, school doesn’t offer that, it’s a lot closer to a prison or a 1900s factory than it is to a place of learning.
I don’t know the solution but I think instead of offloading the problem to tech companies or bureaucrats to solve, each of them very limited in their approach to solving any problem, we should find out what the point of school is. We probably all learn more outside of school than at school even though there’s no one there to “test” our knowledge, that’s something these teacher should consider before they cry about tech ruining kids
