This is a silly take, I don't think of photography as art personally but I acknowledge that it takes skill. I also think it takes certain skills to get SPECIFIC things from ai art generators. Yeah if you don't know what you want out of the generator, anything it makes is going to be 'good enough' for you and you'll think it doesn't take any skill. But if you're trying to make the machine create something specific, then you might have to make dozens of adjustments trying to get the perfect angle, the right tilt of the head, to make outfits consistent between one pose and the next of the same character.
Generating any single piece might seem like it takes no skill, but if you were challenged to remake that specific piece you'd have a hell of a time doing so.
