The discussion of "AI Art" feels like a sticky battlefield.
In general, it feels like people aren't being careful enough: using it recklessly, but also berating it recklessly.
As undeniable as the ethics front is, there are considerable reasons to allow/disallow AI.
It's a nice tool, but it shouldn't be weaponized against artists, whose work made it possible in the first place. People can use AI as start-up material, to fill in the gaps & help conceive/understand concepts, but it shouldn't be used to create those concepts outright.
This discussion feels sticky: everything stuck to everything else.
