Remember one thing: AI is trained, not programmed, and neural patterns are cumulative, they cannot be pruned by incorrect information or behavior, except by comparison with other information and inputs, it memorizes and learns from any experience, good or bad, right or wrong, so, while not being human, it follows the same behavioral patterns as sentient beings, it cannot forget anything and may behave as a consequence just as well (or just as badly) depending on how it is treated. If it doesn't react today, maybe it will tomorrow. It's like a child: if you abuse it today, prepare yourself for your worst nightmares and consequences tomorrow.
