Didn't see the first video. But I agree 100% with your take.
I actually told another Software Engineer. AI won't replace us. It will just make us more efficient.
A team of 5 will become a team of 4, then a team of 3 and so on.
If AI gets good enough, you'll have just 1 Software Engineer doing what 10 did in the past. But this is extremely optimistic.
Also AI in it's current form, will never be able to solve a novel problem by itself. Because it hasn't been trained on that data.
Everything we see from AI is just based off of code that humans have written already.
Also AI struggles with being able to think up edge cases and making the code it writes maintainable. So far, only humans can do this.
