Am I the only one who does not buy these predictions in the slightest? In Shenzhen they have automated baristas since a few years (at the source of all the cheap stuff) and yet the whole world is still employing baristas. It's been 2.5 years since OpenAI's breakthrough with ChatGPT, and yet almost no one is using digital assistants... least of all managers who have assistants. Who will be manufacturing all these humanoid robots? Who will be manufacturing the robots that make the robots? Who is working upstream in the supply chains to make components available for all the robots making the robots? These systems are going to be just as frustrated about working with humans as humans are 😅 And for all the brilliant narrow inteligence systems (working on stuff that is not physical) there seems to be a real difficulty in making something that practically impacts ordinary people every day. For me personally it has been this: Ask Jeeves is finally here... 20 years late.
