It's not the AI that has a racism problem. It's us humans that do and since the ai learns from data created by humans it also learns to adopt out conscious and unconscious biases. The only way for ai to not be racist would be to train it to understand and identify racist bias in the data and filter it out. Ironically ai capable of understanding racism would be a great tool to combat racism in us humans.
