if I had access to this AI back when I was a kid it would be so enticing. Especially in covid, fandoms were rampant and character AIs would have been all the rage in that period and more dangerously widespread. I remember going through the same phase of not going outside or when I was always on my phone texting other fandom members religiously. The content wasn’t sfw. I was a kid and I have no idea how old the other people were but the internet is just addictive. On the go communication whenever you want and now it really is whenever you want the MOMENT you want it with AI. AI should not ever be used to replace a person in these ways. Therapy is hard but what quality of therapy are you getting from something that will never understand what it even is to be happy let alone sad enough to the point you off yourself. They can’t even die- they have no mortality anxiety or consequence for anything. Their responses are calculated. This new age of AI is about to create a generation more reclused than gen z ever was because they’re CHOOSING isolation with their devices. We were forced home and as soon as we could go back out we had a new appreciation for simply being able to leave the house and see those you love. Now the people you love are becoming computers. Imagine how dangerous this technology becomes to the living when AI can carry on the legacy of a dead relative. Make it feel like they’re still here and thus you become obsessed with what little you feel you have left of them. Fuck AI.
