This question gets raised a lot, I think one of the worst outcomes could be that it will get to the point that corporations have AI and Robotics and the important distinction between now and this predicted future is that they will trade with each other for what they need not us. Our recent increased living standards is a blip and a bi-product of activity aimed at improving sections of society to a much greater degree (i.e we only had what we had because it benefitted 'them' more at that time) not because of conspiracy but emerging and aligned interests, that attention will start to shift away and it might even be contributing to the 'Managed decline' observations.
As soon as people became economic units devoid of any value beyond our contribution to say GDP and any human connection or reality like family or community ignored they became the same as any Farmer's herd or crop with all the frighting implications that suggests.
