Consciousness doesn’t have to arise from a tenuously balanced neurochemical soup prone to anxiety and depression. Just because biological brains developed piecemeal, and process inputs in an irrational way doesn’t mean a digital mind would.
Of course if some AI does develop “consciousness”, it’ll probably look very different from biological consciousness since it is more alien in fundamental nature than anything we’d likely find outside of earth’s biosphere 🤷🏻♂️ might have such foreign motivations and manifestations that we’d not even recognize it.
