As of writing this comment the video description reads "Video and data gathered by the Wall Street Journal from over 200 Tesla Autopilot crashes shows that longstanding concerns about Tesla’s camera-based technology, which differs from the rest of the industry, are showing up on the roads and putting the public at risk."
-"Autopilot" is an advanced driver assisted cruise control (same as an airplane). It is described as such inside Tesla's as well as their physical and digital manuals.
-Bosh, Mobileye and Chinese NAV makers are either exiting or scaling back LiDAR research and development.
-The WSJ didn't mention Tesla's FSD (full self driving) technology which would provide context to the "longstanding concerns about Tesla's camera-base technology," why it differs from the rest of the industry and is safer than a human driver when measured in incidents/mile driven.
By all means critique Tesla. Hold them accountable. This is lazy journalism.
