I'm sorry but the world that these AI fearmongerers live in is so completely foreign to me... like we could literally stop building data centers? Wouldn't such a hardware cap make completely impossible the development of an AGI that would without a doubt need the processing power? Also like, have y'all heard of growing your own vegetables?
It seems to me that the rich are the ones who have the most to lose in the scenario of an AI takeover of the digital world, all of their wealth is tied up in imaginary stock prices and they have zero actual skills for living. All of us regular folks can just grow potatoes when the global supply chain is wrecked by AI. But for some reason it's our problem?
