The naivety of the questions and answers in this interview are so depressing: that we have a little time to work out how to protect our children and grandchildren. Look how we are dealing with climate change; a mix of minor adjustments, indifference and outright denial.
Musk’s ‘willing suspension of disbelief’ echoed by the two across the desk. I’m a historian snd current Ai is superficially ok but when you dig deeper, it reflects opinions of facts; it doesn’t go to the data itself….and the data is the actual physical world of artefacts, documents etc. But in the real living world it already starting to be a tsunami of lost jobs, lost careers and what are the prospects for people who are not well educated?……and there are millions of them. Humans keep playing with fire because they think that Progress is Good….but it’s a pandora’s box and sooner or later it’s going to screw us.
Folk will just dismiss all the worry and concern; that’s kinda like the tourists running down to see the sea retreating at Phuket even as a tsunami was appearing on the horizon.
