Luckily, I live in a country where we have a social security system, like unemployment benefits (Germany). This + me being just stubborn, I instantly refuse invites (to positions I applied to) if they ask me for a video, AI interview or case study before I got the chance to talk to them (an actual person) through an online interview first. I have to say that most companies here don't do this whole dystopian route you mentioned in your video! It's usually 1. You apply 2. First interview with HR 3. Interview with team leader 4. case study and then 5. a final interview where you get feedback and if you get an offer, you can negotiate terms there as well. I gotta say I feel very lucky/happy about this and hope it stays as it is!
