Maybe we're looking it it wrong... Maybe AI's most effectiveness could be in finding the best strategies for both sides to preserve the peace, rather than the best strategies to win a destructive battle of endless battles? It can predict and recommend more efficient, more balanced methods for trade, commerce, utilization of natural resources, increase mutual wealth, devise compromises with the most optimally, mutually-beneficial outcomes for all sides -- all while not blowing up cities and sending each other's citizens to early graves. Oh wait.. humans are involved. Never mind.
