I am not even surprised that the anti-AI crowd is still saying this- it doesn't stick because it is false. No, it is not theft; those who have been sampled have not been dispossessed of property- you can not own aesthetic or style. Your ideas are not original; everything is derivative. This tech was always the end-point of digitizing art- to get the computer to do more-and-more. Ultimately, the industry/market will determine the prevalence of image generation- and however that plays out is irrelevant to whether or not I make art.
