I think that if you consider "Comedian" with a bit more open mind, it appears to be more than a rehash of the Fountain. The fact that banana is intentionally chosen as an object that quickly deteriorates, brings in topics of impermanence and replaceability to conversation that Duchamp started. In a way, Comedian is a piece that mocks the current art gallery climate, and with a good reason. It urges someone to buy an expensive piece of art and then futilely replace that piece of art every few days with an object from the grocery store. That's funny.
This all, of course doesn't have anything to do with AI art, that's a classic example of comparing apples with oranges.
