To condense it down a bit further:
They invest in AI, robotics and automation, to save on human labor. At the same time education get's slashed like never before, so these laid off workers can't re-educate themselves to get a new job with good pay. On top of that everything get's more expensive.
How are low wage workers or people worse off supposed to buy that stuff? If somebody does already work 70 hour weeks or more with multiple jobs and still earns 30 grand a year or less, they can't work more, they aren't machines, a human being needs daily rest and a life besides a job. Without that a human is not a worker anymore, but a slave.
