Ezra, I think you’re missing the bigger point that it would take a few bad apples for EVERYTHING to go wrong. Which is true for humans too but AI/Computers can replicate faster, communicate easier, etc.
Combine that with the fact that we are SO reliant on AI already as a society that we no longer think critically. My boss wants me to filter my emails through AI, why? I like my artistic style of writing. The HR department, what few employees are still there, screen employees through AI to the point there’s no thinking outside the box anymore. AI makes us dumber and turns us all into 12 year olds. I don’t want chicken and rice for dinner I want Ice cream and chocolate cake and the AI will acquiesce that request/demand.
Even you aren’t thinking critically when you say, “AI will help us. It’s just cheating on homework.” That’s incredibly naive of you.
