To me art means more than just the image. It showcases the ability, time, effort and energy invested into learning the necessary skills to achieve the results you aim for. I draw and commission artists based on this. I am no good still at art even after 3 years, but I don't mind. I'll keep drawing because I enjoy it and love to see the gradual progress I get after each drawing/painting. AI art just misses the whole point. It misses the energy, time and ability invested into this. It cuts away the imperfections, the themes, the style, the nuance to it all. As someone who desires to become a writer, I feel the threat of AI generated books creeping up in that industry as well... and so from an artist (even of a different form) to another, I wish to offer solidarity.
