I’m a freelance artist, and I had been working with the same client for about 4 years. Recently, that workload has dropped to about half of what it used to be, so I’ve been looking for new opportunities on Reddit, Behance, Upwork, and other freelance platforms.
While doing so, I’ve noticed just how many fake “artists” are out there, people presenting AI-generated images as their own work, sometimes even criticizing AI while clearly posting AI art. It’s frustrating to see.
Over the last couple of months, I’ve been focusing on finding new commissions, but the opportunities seem much fewer compared to 5 years ago. It feels like commission work is at a historic low.
Are other artists experiencing the same thing, or is it just me?
