AI is going to find the most efficient method of reaching a goal. With no psychological need for acceptance and approval, no love, no guilt, what you have is a sociopath. Sociopathic systems that we have built and which absolutely will destroy us, why do rich (probably also sociopathic) developers like Zuckerberg and Musk talk like it’s inevitable? Stop development, or figure out how to imbue them with love, shame, guilt and a need for approval more powerful than our own. (We need ai less homicidal than we are!) But they won’t because for some weird reason, humans will not step out of the way of the stone rolling down the hill. Not for climate change, not for a pandemic (anti-maskers, anti-vaxxers..?) How could this guy hesitate to answer whether our SPECIES, which he is a part of, should survive?!? It truly feels as though we’re sinking into a dystopian nightmare, super-villains and all!
