But the issue of token economics - just using cost per token and number of tokens - misses a key point: you are not getting effective/efficient use of the intelligence of the systems with cheaper models. If you want a simpleton to do the agent work, then you spend a lot n cheap tokens and get as potentially poor performance. But, if you work with a “smarter” system, your tokens are more expensive, but you use fewer.
The idea of tokens use * cost of tokens is a great financial model, not a good delivery model. (from a wannabe AI token economist)
