Its not particularly relevant but this topic reminds me of an old science fiction story. Some people were in a command bunker and it got compromised so they put their Defense system on autonomous and evacuated. Once they left the bunker they found a bunch of people they thought they were fighting. Turns out they had to evacuate their command bunker and set it to autonomous a long time ago. The story ends as everyone looks overhead to see the missiles flying back and forth between the two AIs.
