I don't understand why people keep talking about how bad LLM is now. Yes, it is unable to completely replace SEs now. But if you compare what it can do now vs. what it could do just a year ago, the progress is astounding. At this rate, I don't think anyone can predict what LLM can do in 5 years. So in that sense, pivoting your business into AI focused engineering is not a crazy decision. Yes it will have transitioning pain, but chances are it will pay off eventually.
