I drive a bus.
Although self driving vehicles are already widely used where I live, for transit operators, driving is only a fraction of what we do. So many homless, mentally ill, drug addicted people on our busses now days, not to mention the chaos that a group of high school teens can cause, and generally just pissed off regular folk. Much of our job is solving human problems, de-escalating and mediating human emotions.
I shudder to imagine what a driverless city transit bus would look like in operation. I mean, I can imagine some "emergency" features put in place, but all are violent. At least for now, I think we're safe,at least until my retirement.
