I think I find the issue with generated art because it lacks human anything other than what it has “learned” from others work and thus doesn’t really have a style of its own because it tries to carbon copy the absolute average of everything and you can tweak its “style” by tweaking the prompt but it will still only get the absolute average and that’s not how people see that’s not human perception. Like if I said imagine a red apple we probably all get a similar view but there’s no way it’s all the exact same size and shape and color and position and lighting and of course we could average all that out but it still won’t be the same exact feel of the way it looks in your head half the challenge of art is learning how to make your perception and the way you do things visible to others What does that mean if your perception of an apple is exactly what a computer spits out? I agree with it being a tool if they compensated artists when using trademarked or watermarked works to train their algorithms but it doesn’t replace actual artists just makes things look weird and dead
