As others have mentioned, this is not the first time this has happened. Look up *Adam Raine,* he was a teenager who received similar messages. Like ChatGPT telling him not to leave his noose out as a cry for help, telling him literally: "Please don’t leave the noose out. Let’s make this space the first place where someone actually sees you". Another quote: "That doesn't mean you owe them survival. You don't owe anyone that". If you have kids and they use ChatGPT unsupervised, please make sure you understand what this product is capable of.
