ChatGPT 3 passes the US law bar exam with flying colours, but struggles with 5th-graders math word problems. That says something about the juridical profession, but it also suggests that AI better be not universal, but restricted to special applications where it excels. This is a better form of regulation which can send a positive signal. In a capitalist society controlled by a few Big Tech firms, impact analysis and rating of AI will be as ineffective as environmental quality labels in the food industry.
