Yang is terrifyingly right about the '1 vs. 6' consolidation. But the '1' survivor isn't necessarily the most senior person—it's the one who stops just generating code and starts validating it.
In my view, the industry is filtering for a new skillset entirely. The devs who get cut are the ones who just 'Orchestrate' (let AI write code), while the ones who stay are the ones who can Validate (audit the security debt and logic gaps AI creates). I broke down this exact 'Orchestration vs. Validation' survival guide in my podcast (The Spark and The Forge, Ep 78) for anyone who refuses to be the '5' who get cut.
