Here is the question I put to anyone who says using AI for learning is cheating: is it cheating for roofers or builders in general to use nail guns instead of just using a hammer and nails? When do we decide that tool usage is virtuous and when it is dishonest? And why not go all the way with it? Using a hammer is cheating, push the nail in with your thumb or you're cheating.
Anyone using AI for their assignments stands to suffer long term and are only really cheating themselves as they will get exposed as frauds the very second they enter their chosen industry while not possessing the knowledge their degree/resume purports that they possess.
