Every year we're more productive and are producing more value...... yet we're all still beholden to the 40 hour work week format because ?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿ reasons.
Those reasons made sense when they did ...... almost 100 years ago when computers didn't exist. But if the point behind AI is to cut human labor while keeping productivity high in the ultimate goal to give humanity freer time to do whatever we like, then the 40 hour work week needs to be addressed like the wholly mammoth in the room it is. We get all this fancy talk about Universal Basic Income and NOTHING to address a transitional process to get to that point - say a total revamp towards everybody's wages and overtime pay - because we're being fed nothing but BS by the tech oligarchs.
